Port Tampa Bay

- TAMPA, Fla.—Port executives and staff welcomed the 660-passenger luxury liner Azamara Quest at the port’s Cruise Terminal 2, on March 23, for a one-time port of call for the cruise season. Raul Alfonso, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, headed a small group of port staff to greet the captain and crew and engage in the exchange of commemorative plaques.
Of note, Azamara Quest actually called at Port Tampa Bay back on October 31, 2007, when the upscale cruise ship was diverted from Miami due to the threat of Tropical Storm Noel. However, the ship’s call this time was the official maiden call.
The ship set sail on a beautiful, clear evening out of Tampa, destined for New Orleans before embarking for other, more distant destinations.
