Carnival Cruise Line announces Summer internship program at five U.S. Homeports, including Tampa
Carnival Cruise Line is sponsoring a summer jobs program for high school students in five of its U.S. homeports – Tampa, Jacksonville, Norfolk, New York City, and Long Beach. The program will provide high school students who are at least 17 years old with six weeks of paid, hands-on experience at Carnival cruise terminal operations.
Dubbed the “Carnival Fun-ternship Program,” the students will work alongside Carnival’s port services team members who operate the cruise terminals where guests embark on Carnival ships. Interns will get a behind-the-scenes look at Carnival’s homeport operations and receive training and mentorship from Carnival team members. In addition to an hourly wage, interns will have special experiences such as a cruise ship tour and lunch and learn sessions to foster career development.
“This will be more than just a unique, fun summer job. It will be an opportunity for young people to develop professional skills, build confidence and leadership abilities, and gain experience in a part of the travel industry that directly impacts their community’s economy,” said David Candib, vice president of Port Operations for Carnival Cruise Line. “We believe this is another great way to invest in the communities we call home, as well as the future of our dynamic and growing cruise industry.”
High school students who live in the five homeport communities where the program will take place are encouraged to apply for the limited internship roles available, and applications are now open through May 1, 2025. The six-week program will run from June 21, 2025, to August 2, 2025. Interested students should click here to learn more and submit their applications.
