Christine Miller is President & CEO of the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce, where she is committed to meeting the needs of the community, with a dual concern for business and quality of life. She played a pivotal role in establishing the Plant City Partnership aligning the strategic objectives of the Great Plant City Chamber, Economic Development Corporation, and Main Street, elevating the value of each organization within the community.
Prior to transforming the Greater Plant City Chamber, Miller overhauled the United Food Bank, catapulting it to multimillion-dollar fundraising success while setting and exceeding her personal goal of serving and empowering over a million persons in need. Her expertise spans the public and private sectors, corporate America, small business ownership, not-for-profit, and non-profit industries.
In addition to serving on the Port Tampa Bay Board of Commissioners, Miller serves on the Executive Board of the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals (FACP), FACP Advocacy Committee, FACP West Florida Regional Chair, Student Affairs Development Council for Florida State University, Hillsborough Cattlemen Foundation Board, Plant City Economic Development Corporation Board and Plant City Main Street Board.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts, a Post Crisis Leadership Certificate from the University of South Florida, and a Master of Public Administration from Florida State University. Additionally, Miller is a Leadership Plant City Alumni, and a Rotary Club Board Member.
As we welcome a new County Commissioner, we would like to thank The Honorable Michael Owen for his one-and-a-half years of dedicated service to the PTB Board. Commissioner Owen showed loyal dedication and leadership through his passionate interest in Port Tampa Bay and the port community as well as its impacts as the largest economic engine in the region. Commissioner Owen was dedicated to economic growth and job creation and we wish him well in his future endeavors.
